Alcohol Ink Art with Erin @noicreations

A collaboration between Coastbeat Marketplace & Kaleidoscope hosted by Coffs Central.

Immerse yourself in a world of fluid colour as Artist Erin Hughes of Noi Creations & Design, guides you through the process of creating art with alcohol ink on synthetic paper. You will take home your very own artwork, ready to frame!

What will I learn?

In this 2-hour workshop, Erin will teach you everything you need to know to create your own Alcohol Ink Art. You will learn about the ink and the materials you will be using, as well as different techniques used to create different effects. To help you make colour choices confidently, you will also learn basic colour theory. You will be able to test the inks and techniques on an A5 sized piece of synthetic paper before you move on to an A3 sized artwork.

Do I need any previous experience?

Absolutely not! If you are equipped with curiosity and would like to try something new, then this workshop is perfect for you! It is suitable for beginners, and also for those who may have tried using alcohol inks but would like some guidance with technique.

What will I take home on the day?

You will take home a folder containing your A5 sized test piece, your A3 artwork and an information sheet should you wish to explore this artform from home. To get you started straight away, Erin will also have a limited number of alcohol ink kits available for purchase at Kaleidoscope.

Is the workshop suitable for everyone?

For health and safety reasons, this workshop is recommended for people aged 16 and over. Children aged 12 to 15 may attend, with a paying, supervising adult. It is not recommended for children under 12.

It is not recommended for women who are pregnant.

What do I need to bring?

There’s nothing you need to bring, however it’s best to wear old clothes, as the inks do stain and can be very messy.

Nitrile gloves will be supplied and need to be worn to protect your hands. Aprons, safety glasses and P2 masks will be made available on the day, should you choose to use them.
